important things. There is neccessary sufering and unneccessary suffering.
Unneccessary suffering is brought on by some level of lack of self acceptance.
The painful experiences and negative emotions of unneccessary suffering
color our lives and keep us from our true greatness.
As we begin to accept ourselves including all those parts of ourselves
or aspects of ourselves that do not meet our own standards, peace, joy,
and love becomes our state of being more and more constantly. It is within
the reach of all of us and once we have it, it then radiates into the world

ability to laugh at ourselves (I, at least, have done plenty of things
that deserve at least a guffaw or two).

Most important lesson learned = Reassessing priorities
is a must for me. Things change in order of importance. Some
things drop off the map entirely while others magically appear. I have
stretched my personal envelope in many areas of interest and have discovered
that learning new things is just plain fun. I know what it's like
to fly airplanes alone, jump out of them and look over the edge of an underwater
cliff into a 600 feet deep canyon (visiblilty 50 feet). I've been
fortunate enough to indulge some of my lifelong dreams and want to share
as many as possible with my wife.

Fondest Memory = Many, but one that stands out is
the day Mr. Zimmerman caught John Markley playing one of his practical
jokes of putting a tack on desk seat of a fellow classmate. Zimmerman
caught him in the act. He made poor John put the tack on his seat
and then proceeded to make John sit on the tack. In typical Zimmerman
fashion he added his little touch. He grabbed his shoulders and pushed
John down harder and held him there while Zimmerman just laughed loudly
to the rest of the class. Poor John had to grin and bear the "point"
of old Zimmermans' humor! John and Zimmerman always loved to
have a good time and were lots of fun in class, but this was not one of
John's more successful escapades. John was always a good sport though,
and took his punishment gracefully, at least as gracefully as he could
under the circumstances.

Most important lesson learned = That is difficult.
The most important lesson is probably to turn everything over to God because
it will be done in his time not in mine. That includes letting go
with no attachment to the outcome. Family is the most important thing I
could ever fathom in life. I lost my mother long ago and now that
my dad is 89 and not the same it is difficult for me. My original
search for recognition is no longer an issue. So many of my friends
and family have died lately that it has made me realize life is fragile.
My husband and I are getting to the age where we can retire, but what does
retire mean. Is it sitting still and watching the boob tube or is
it giving of your time to family and friends. I believe the
hardest thing in life is to balance --time, work, and love. Good
health if necessary if you are to do this difficult balance. Another
difficult thing is to remember to give thanks for all that you have.
